Cabrillo National Monument offers a way to help wild animals by caring for the coastal places they live. The park’s volunteer programs include tidepool protection, native-species monitoring and habitat restoration, along with visitor education. The focus is observing, protecting and interpreting wildlife in its habitat.

The Tidepool Protection, Education and Restoration Program helps visitors understand intertidal life, while Weed Warriors work on invasive plants. There are also science and trail-based roles. You can ask the volunteer office about a recurring position or a one-time service opportunity; groups have a separate planning route so projects can match their size and interests.
